On the evening of November 4, 2025, in the Jaramana area of Damascus, Mr. Elias Joseph Al-Baba was killed after an armed group stormed his shop and opened fire on him, resulting in his death. The assailants then stole gold jewelry. The victim was a Christian citizen.
This incident comes amid a broader context of instability and a rise in sectarian violence, kidnappings, and murders targeting minorities in Syria, under the control of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.
