On November 2, 2025, citizen Firas Ali Salmoun from the city of Sheikh Badr, in the countryside of Tartous Governorate, disappeared after all contact with him was lost that morning. No information has been available about his fate or whereabouts to date.
The victim, Firas Ali Salmoun, belongs to the Alawite sect. This incident comes amid a broader climate of instability and an increase in sectarian violence and abductions targeting minorities in Syria, under the rule of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, which currently holds power in the country.
