About Us

On October 1, 2025, we officially announce the launch of Rights Monitor (Human Rights Monitor Platform in Syria), a dedicated initiative committed to the monitoring, documentation, and reporting of human rights violations in Syria. Our mission is to ensure that perpetrators of grave abuses are held accountable in accordance with the principles of international law and that no violation goes unrecorded or unpunished.

At this stage, our primary focus is on Syria, a country that has witnessed appalling violations of human rights and humanitarian law, including sectarian violence, targeted killings, enforced disappearances, and crimes against civilians on the basis of identity. These atrocities reflect daily realities for countless individuals.

Rights Monitor collects and verifies evidence of human rights abuses through:

Open-source investigations (OSINT);

Testimonies of victims and their families;

Eyewitness accounts;

Reports from activists and local human rights defenders.

We recognize that many of the materials published on our platform — including photographs and videos — depict disturbing and graphic evidence of violations. In accordance with principles of dignity, respect, we:

Strongly advise that individuals under the age of 18, as well as those who may be emotionally distressed, refrain from viewing such content;

Respect the wishes of victims’ families — any request to remove published material relating to their loved ones will be honored.

Our work is guided by the framework of international human rights and humanitarian law, including but not limited to:

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948);

The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (1966);

The Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (1984);

The Geneva Conventions (1949) and Additional Protocols;

The principle of accountability and non-impunity affirmed in international jurisprudence.

By invoking these instruments, we affirm that the violations we document are not merely moral wrongs but constitute breaches of binding international obligations.

Reports of violations from individuals, civil society, and journalists;

Inquiries from researchers, human rights organizations, and legal experts;

Volunteers who wish to contribute to the mission of documenting and advocating for justice.

To contact us for reporting a violation, requesting removal of content, or offering collaboration, please reach us through our official communication Email. contact@rightsmonitor.org

Note: Due to our years of experience documenting human rights violations, we will work on the platform to publish these violations in the past, but according to the dates they occurred.
