On the evening of November 9, 2025, in the village of Rableh in the countryside of Homs, central Syria, two armed men opened fire at close range on Fadi Riyad Al-Atram, a 35-year-old follower of the Christian faith, and Hussein Issa Alloush Al-Youssef, a 50-year-old member of the Alawite sect, causing them severe head injuries. The wounded men were immediately taken to Al-Za’eem Hospital in Homs, where both died of their injuries.
This incident comes within a broader context marked by recurring killings, kidnappings, and violations targeting minorities in various regions of Syria, under the control of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, which holds power in the country.
