On the evening of Thursday, November 27, 2025, two armed individuals stormed a commercial shop selling quail in the Al-Karamah neighborhood of the city of Homs, located near the Sahara complex, and opened fire on its owner.
The victim is Mrs. Rana Abdel Karim Khalil, aged 52 years. According to information, the lady was from the Alawite community. The attackers targeted her inside her shop using a pistol equipped with a silencer; she was hit by a bullet in the head, leading to her immediate death.
This incident occurs within a general context where several Syrian regions are witnessing an escalation in murder crimes and violence of a sectarian nature, alongside kidnapping incidents that target minorities, amid an absence of any information about holding the perpetrators accountable so far.
