On the night of Sunday, November 16, 2025, in the Karm al-Zaytoun neighborhood in the city of Homs, unidentified gunmen threw grenades at two houses. The first house was targeted at around 10:45 p.m. with a grenade that was thrown onto the roof. About thirty minutes later, the gunmen returned and threw two grenades at another house, placing them at the entrance of the staircase, causing a powerful explosion that resulted in widespread destruction and significant material damage, with no human casualties reported. According to local sources, the two targeted houses belong to families from the Murshidiya sect, and this attack comes as part of a series of assaults targeting members of this sect in the neighborhood.
