On the evening of December 21, 2025, six young men were violently attacked inside a farm in the town of Taldara in the western Salamiya countryside of Hama Governorate, western Syria, by a group of masked armed men.
According to available information, the group beat the young men with the butts of their rifles, resulting in multiple injuries, including a head laceration for one of the young men, dislocated shoulders for three others, and an injury to the elbow of a fourth young man.
Eyewitnesses indicated that the attack took place around 11:30 p.m., with the armed men storming the location before stealing two cars, several mobile phones, sums of money, and identity documents, then fleeing to an unknown destination.
This incident reflects the spread of chaos and the absence of any effective protection for civilians in the area. It also indicates a worrying escalation in the targeting of civilians, amid a lack of official information on the perpetrators’ identities and the continued impunity in areas under the control of the interim authority “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.”
