On the morning of November 4, 2025, a field execution took place in the village of Burj Qa’i in the countryside of Homs, where an armed group operating in the al-Houla area stormed a poultry farm and executed two young men from the Shia community — Hassan Sadiq al-Hassan (19 years old) and Hamza Saleh Hammoud (19 years old) — who were working and staying at the farm.
The victims were shot dead inside the poultry facility, and their bodies were later found at the scene. The two young men were from the village of al-Ghour al-Gharbiya in western rural Homs and had recently graduated from a technical institute.
This incident occurs amid a broader context of instability and an escalation of sectarian violence, kidnappings, and killings targeting minority communities in Syria under the control of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
