An armed group stormed the home of Mr. Ghiath Hamidi Shaqoul, a member of the Shiite community, in the Al-Bahdaliya neighborhood of the Sayyida Zainab area in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and opened fire on him, resulting in his immediate death. It is reported that the victim had survived a similar assassination attempt just two weeks earlier, during which he was hospitalized, before being fatally targeted again.
