The abduction of Judge Ali Ezzedine in Homs

On November 14, 2025, the civil judge Ali Ezzedine, a member of the Alawite community, was abducted from inside an agricultural nursery owned by his family in the Wadi al-Dhahab neighborhood in the city of Homs in central Syria. This incident comes within a broader context in which killings, sectarian violence, and kidnappings targeting minorities in Syria have escalated during the period that followed Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s assumption of power. It is noted that two of Judge Ali Ezzedine’s brothers were previously kidnapped at the beginning of this year, and their fate remains unknown to this day.
