On the night of 19 December 2025, an assassination crime took place in the city of al-Houla in the Homs countryside, on the al-Tayba agricultural road. The incident resulted in the killing of the two young men, Bara’a al-Khalaf and Uday Saad al-Din, both residents of the city of al-Houla.
According to available information, unknown individuals opened direct fire on the two young men while they were on the al-Tayba agricultural road, leading to their immediate death. As of the time of documenting the incident, the identity of the perpetrators remains unknown.
This incident occurred amid a noticeable rise in crime rates and the continued state of security breakdown, alongside the absence of effective measures to protect civilians, which increases the risks of targeting residents in their daily lives and undermines their right to personal safety.
