On Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the city of Latakia, western Syria, contact was lost with citizen Adnan Asaad Saeed, a civil employee at the Maritime Agencies, after he was last seen in the Tishreen suburb of Latakia upon returning from work. He had parked his car, purchased some items from the neighborhood, and then drove off again before all communication with him was completely lost.
This incident comes amid a rise in sectarian violence and kidnappings targeting minorities in Syria, following the takeover of power by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
