Contact was lost with Rifaat Mohammed Jadid, a 45-year-old man from the Alawite community, in the city of Jableh, Latakia Governorate, Syria, on October 30, 2025. He worked as a municipal sanitation worker, and his family has received no information about his whereabouts since that date. He is originally from the village of Qalaat Bani Qahtan in the Jableh countryside.
This incident occurs in the context of escalating sectarian violence and kidnappings targeting minorities in Syria, following the seizure of power by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
