The killing of civilian Ahmad Tamer Abboud, a member of the Murshidiya sect, in rural Hama by an armed group

On November 4, 2025, the incident took place in the al-Ghab Plain in the countryside of Hama Province, western Syria, specifically near the Shaqqat al-Alman Bridge adjacent to the village of al-Qatra, where an armed group intercepted Ahmad Tamer Abboud (63 years old), a resident of al-Drableh village originally from al-Faraykeh, and opened fire on him directly, causing his immediate death.

The victim belonged to the Murshidiya religious community and had previously worked as an Arabic language teacher. After his retirement, he worked in the field of concrete carpentry.

This incident comes amid a general atmosphere of instability and an escalation of sectarian violence, kidnappings, and killings targeting minorities in Syria under the rule of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
