Rights Monitor Syria has documented the killing of civilian Mustafa Habib Akhras, aged 63, a member of the Alawite community, after being subjected to direct gunfire carried out by unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle on the morning of July 17, 2026, in Al-Kharsan village, in the eastern countryside of Hama. According to available information, the attack occurred in front of the victim’s shop, located near a security checkpoint inside the village, leading to his immediate death.

According to the documented information, unidentified gunmen opened fire on Mustafa Habib Akhras while he was in front of his shop before fleeing the scene.
