Local sources have documented the killing of two individuals belonging to the Alawite community and the severe injury of two others following an armed attack targeting members of the same family in the village of Al-Shuhaib, located in the countryside of Salamiyah city, Hama Governorate, western Syria. The incident, which occurred at noon on Sunday, June 7, 2026, raises growing concerns regarding civilian safety and the continuity of violence targeting members of the Alawite community in the region.
According to obtained information, unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle stopped in front of a barber shop owned by Ahmad Alloush in the village of Al-Shuhaib. They subsequently opened fire using automatic weapons at those present inside the shop before immediately fleeing the scene.
The attack resulted in the killing of Kulb Ahmad Alloush and his nephew, Mahmoud Ayman Alloush. Meanwhile, Ahmad Ayman Alloush (19 years old) and Ali Kulb Alloush sustained injuries described as critical and were transferred to a medical facility for treatment.
Local sources reported that the victims belong to the Alawite community, noting that the incident has provoked a state of tension and resentment among local residents, given the recurrence of similar incidents recently.
