On the morning of October 8, 2025, the child “Muhammad Qays Haydar” from the Alawite sect was kidnapped in front of his school in the city of Lattakia by armed individuals riding in a silver “Santa Fe” SUV. The incident occurred in front of students and the teaching staff, as the child was forcibly dragged away using force. This left a state of shock and panic within the local community and raised fears about the implications of the incident on the sense of security, especially among minorities.
