On the evening of December 19, 2025, the two brothers Ahmad and Yaman Nasan were killed following an armed attack that targeted their jewelry shop in the al-Halak neighborhood of the city of Aleppo.
The first victim, Ahmad Nasan, was the head of a family consisting of several children, and the second victim was his younger brother, Yaman Nasan, who had been married only a short time earlier. The two brothers are originally from the city of Azaz and own a gold shop in the al-Halak neighborhood of Aleppo.
According to what was shown by surveillance camera recordings inside and outside the shop, at least two armed individuals carried out the crime. At approximately 6:38 p.m., the gunmen entered the shop quickly and opened fire inside before stealing its contents. The footage showed one of the perpetrators emptying his automatic weapon directly into the body and head of the younger brother, Yaman, without any prior threat, while the older brother, Ahmad, was killed despite his attempt to evade the attacker and withdraw further into the shop.
After exiting the shop, the gunmen threatened remaining passersby with their weapons, then one of them returned inside while the other remained outside holding his automatic weapon, lying in wait and firing toward any movement, including toward balconies.
The information indicated in the recordings points to the involvement of armed individuals of unknown identity in carrying out an armed robbery that led to the killing of the two brothers, with no information available about the entity to which they belong.
This crime occurred amid a noticeable escalation in crime rates in areas under the control of the interim government, “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham,” amid the continued state of security chaos and the absence of effective measures to protect civilians and their property, which exacerbates the risks of targeting residents in their workplaces and daily lives.
