Activists reported on September 30, 2025, that the young man Haitham Abdulaziz Yousef from the Alawite sect was killed after being shot by members of a checkpoint belonging to the General Security of the interim authority (Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham) in the Talkalakh countryside near the village of Al-Ashrafa in the Homs governorate, Syria, due to his affiliation with the Alawite sect.
